In this video I show you a new program I discovered called "Portable apps" what this piece of software will do is allow you to download a bunch of free portable applications that can be run of a USB flash drive on any computer. This software is also free since the portable applications are all open source projects like Firefox for example.

Now you will need a large capacity Flash drive about 1GB and over will do it, since these applications take a lot of room. In the video I downloaded the platform only one as an example, if you have a bigger flash drive then I suggest you download any of the other 2 since the platform only download doesn't come with portable applications.

I also show you how to install the various portable applications to the Portable apps folder on the flash drive. There is a manual way of making any EXE file portable, but this takes time and could lead to errors and corrupted files or folders, so the method on the video is probably the easiest and quickest way of getting portable applications.

Anyway before I end this description here is the link to portable apps.
http://portableapps.com/
Just click on that link and click "download now"

And like it says on the website this software contains no spy ware, Trojans ETC. it's completely safe to download and install. I also should mention that this site also has open office, it's a free alternative to Microsoft office 2007.

If you have a look around the site you can discover other things that can be made portable, I also believe that there is a portable app creator somewhere on the site, if I get the link to it I will add it to the description, so you can try it out, let me know (Via comments) if it's a good piece software or not.

Oh and finally not all of the portable applications will run on Mac and Linux, so the best thing to do is to try it out for your self and see.

  • What do you use for screen capturing?

  • Camstudio it's free opensource software.

if you get the settings right(which I obviously haven't) then you can make ultra high quality videos.

  • Do you mean destroying the sensory nodes? It just makes the head move slower, and the MAC blast cannon only takes off about 1/100th of it's health? Shit?!

  • Yeah.

  • Halo Wars background lol... I love the game :D, stuck on the Scarab mission (mission 7) on Heroic? Got any help?

  • Is that the one with the super scarab. it's easy, take out all the control nodes and send tanks to shoot it from both sides.
