He gave a hint of his genius when he was but a child of six years. The child of Kalathur Kannamma went on to play the leading man, his acting never in doubt - whether he played a village dimwit, a psychopath, a don, a kind-hearted teacher or a classical dancer. Along the way, he attracted awards the way honey attracts bees. As if being a powerhouse in acting was not enough, his expertise extended to directing, screenwriting, playback singing and choreography. And he has been doing all this for the last 50 years!!! Well, no surprises as to whom VJ Paloma is talking about - the one and only Ulaga Nayakan, Padmashri Dr Kamal Hassan.
