  • The Hawaiian Kingdom was a multi-ethnic country. While it was comprised primarily of Kanaka Maoli or ethnic Hawaiians, there were also those of many other races who were Hawaiians - citizens of the Hawaiian Kingdom. It was not unusual at all for non-ethnic Hawaiians to speak out in favor of the Hawaiian Kingdom. They fought hard at the time, along with ethnic Hawaiians to prevent the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom by the US.

  • I am very happy that the Hawai'ian independence movement is not racist. I believe all nations and all peoples have a right to self-rule and sovereignty. There are other US states who desire to secede as well. But Hawai'i's secession movement makes the most sense out of any of them. I support the independence movement, as long as I would not be discriminated against as a haole.

  • @Epona1111 The Hawaiian Kingdom was a multi-ethnic nation. Its citizens were from many different ethnic backgrounds and heritages. The culture has always been inclusive rather than exclusive. Hawai`i however would not need to secede from the US since it was never legally part of the US to begin with.

  • @stevewoyach Whites DO insist at sittting at the head of the table globally

  • @DigiBentoBox I agree!!! But from the trash my son and I pick up along the side of the road every week Hawaii could not survive without WalMart and Mc Donalds, but it would be a much better place! Buy Local! Live Local! Aloha

  • So please tell us, HOW is this supposed to rid Hawaii of crime, make it safe, and affordable so you won't have to work three jobs to live there?

And how is it you adopt a Hawaiian name when you are not Hawaiian?

  • The US Government will never allow Hawaii to leave the unuion .Remember our history what did susession bring .It would set a presedent for other states to follow forget it .it will never be allowed to happen

  • Imagine the way people would react to activists who demand whites sit at "the head of the table". They're just brown Nazis.

  • @koanifoundation I listened to your message. I disagree with your idea that you could get rid of crime and improve the economy by breaking free of the U.S. First, where is your food coming from? It's mostly imported from other countries. That keeps expenses high. Would you keep tourism? That's your biggest indistry. Well, good luck with this. I applaud your efforts. I just think you're misguided.

  • Who gives a damn about race? Just because you're "pure blooded" as in ethnically native, doesn't mean that you'll be a perfect leader. A kanaka is just as susceptible to the vices of humanity as a haole. Focus not on changing the entire system, rather, look to take matters into your own hands and help your community through cleanups, safety patrol, etc. That's the only way for change to happen. Remember, a hawaiian is hawaiian in his mind; Nothing else matters. Mahalo.

  • This is similar to the position of the Atzlan movement, here in the Southwest.

We only seek the right to return to our homeland - not kick anyone out (don't have the means anyway). The diference is, we are not seeking a change of goverment.

  • Queen Lili'uokalani tried to change voting law through promulgating a constitution leaving only Hawaiian males with this right to vote. After the Queen's announcement her cabinet resigned, refusing to sign the thing. In hours a couple of thousand appeared, a revolution defeating Lili'uokalani ensued. In a year the diplomatically recognized Republic sought annexation. Not illegal, legal under law. Letters of diplomatic recognition are at the archives building in Honolulu. Just activist BS.

  • No mention of Japan and its expansionalist desires in World War II. Many Americans died fighting against the Japanese, and Hawaii would not be free had they not done so. So their descendants are every bit as Hawaiian as anyone else.
