  • Thumbs up if you're from JONESBORO, GA!!!!! I only wish they advertised Smokey and The Bandit the way they do gone with the wind!

  • @armybrat585 No I am from Atlanta but no far from Jonesboro...grew up around the Cheshire Bridge Rd. area...Went to Briarcliff High School on North Druid Hills Rd if ya know where that is?

  • how did you find the same areas that were in the movie? this is great, glad you posted this video. I love videos like this... taking it back in the day. Those last pictures were awesome... that field and bleachers are still there... awesome!

  • @TreyOConner I am a native Georgian and so I grew up traveling some of these same areas...the areas I revisited were mainly easy access

  • The old fairgrounds is now where the Lakewood Amphitheater is and will soon be a movie studio

  • The stadium in the picture was at the old southeastern fairgrounds...they used to have motorcycle races there...after the movies they tore down the old wooden roller coaster...I used to ride that thing when I was a kid....when Smokey & the Bandit was filmed all over Ga...it was not hard to get yourself a spot as an extra or watch the filming of the movie...thus that is where all the photos were taken I wrote on the back of the photos...then went back later in years

  • I too am a smokey & the bandit fan, Jackie Gleason just cracks me up, what a great comedy actor, a REAL funny guy, Its been interesting to see those locations as they are now, Thankyou for posting this :-))

  • I was born and raised in Toronto Canada and my dad got me into this movie when I was a young boy. I bought this movie on dvd a few years back and I still watch it from time to time. Although the movie is simplistic you can't help but fall for the characters, music, scenery, comedy and the car chases. For the most part the landscape of GA seems to be the same. Although I am shocked to see the poor condition of the race track that looks abandoned. Thank you for putting the effort into the post!!!

  • Excellent, thank you

  • Wow, really enjoyed this video! Thanks for posting it!

  • Dear DebiNga, well, I grew up for the most part in Germany, but still non the less, these movies were my favorites, cuz of the comedy, scenery actors and of course one of the greatest cars. Well once I met my dad here in the states he turned me into a Country boy and now I love that kind of movies or also the original Dukes of hazzard even more. Too bad now days they don t make near as funny and good car chase movies with some old school muscle cars anymore.

  • An outstanding post! Thanx...
