There are limited places for children's swimming lessons in Woden,Canberra. So the closest one in winter is a former motel 's swimming pool which is located off cotter road. This is also a horse riding school.

The ride was mostly on cycle paths , with a section of on road cycle lane(break down area for cars) and there was little bit of rain. Yet not many people cycling.

  • ...and I can't believe you have to travel so far for a public pool. We have sorely neglected our public space and amenities in this country. Soon there will be none left...

  • @nitramluap at the location of the new bike cage , across the road in a privately owned public pool. As it is winter and being an open pool it is closed. Given the climate in Canberra, having an open air pool that can only be used in summer, is a bad idea. It is a also one of the most expensive pools to visit in Canberra also.

  • Not too bad considering you actually have a cycle path for most of it. Pity it is far too narrow, bumpy & patchy and shared with pedestrians... The lack of priority at road crossings is telling. In The Netherlands the bikeway intersects the road and cars give way. I'm yet to find an example of that in Queensland...

  • Respond to this video...

  • @mjmktr69 Which video? No link in the comment, mjmktr69!

  • @nitramluap I was replying to both your comments at once and this response disappeared for some reason. Your right Canberra has some nice cycle paths ,widths are 2.4 meters and about 200km worth of asphalt paths .Yes they don't get cleaned regularly unlike the roads.I have put in a couple of requests for some cycle priority at these intersection but ACT roads are unwilling to for some reason.

  • @nitramluap It's a pretty common problem in Canberra. The network of cycle paths has some good coverage but many are poorly drained and are covered in water, mud etc after rain. I broke my arm sliding (at low speed) on deep gravel washed on to the path earlier this year. Our paths were probably good for the 1970s when I think many were put in, but the standards they are built to haven't advanced much.

  • Not to mention the path is even narrower due to all the dirt and crap on it! :(
