Well there are different kinds of rock bands and REM is not hard rock or metal. They are alternative and or soft rock. But since they are in the rock family she sang a rock song.
I think LA was looking for something more up tempo like shiny happy people or something like that, if she was going to do a REM song. I hope he didn't expect her to do a Slayer cover or something like that. LOL

well LA's stars aren't necessarily rock stars. So he should think first. Not all rock is hard core head banging . Some rock is soft others is loud or expressive and out there.
