My Grandfather was a, "Bridgetender," in West Palm Beach, FL in the 1970's. He worked at the old Blue Heron Blvd bridge that was replaced by the newer passover bridge some time around 1974. My Grandfather taught me as a 12 yrs old child how to operate the bridge. What a thrill at 12 to open the bridge and let the boats go through. Wish I could feel like that again. Oh, what great memories of the bridge. Fishing off of it and memories with my Grandfather at the bridge.
