Treldman. I hate to burst your bubble but small planes are not safer than large planes. I would say they're equally safe. What does a larger glide slope if an engine blows out mean? And the larger plane's wings flex because they are designed to flex. If they didn't THEN they would snap off. So it's actually a good thing that they are flexing. Every commercial jet is designed to withstand turbulence, small and large. Not sure where you got your info from.

The Crj900 is such a nice aircraft. Even though it is small, it can still go pretty far. I remember a while back when they were using the 757-200 to go from MSP- Austin.
That kid in the background is so annoying.

Yes, there is a smaller airport for private planes across the river from downtown St. Paul. That's where 3M's corportate jets are.

@peteboy1113 There are five airports in the MSP Area. Wold Chamberlain Field is the main int'l airport. There are three very small Airports for private air travel. There is also a regional airport near St, Paul.

@02Nawal You're speculations are completely unfounded, Mesaba airlines has one of the best if not the best safety records of ALL regional carriers. I KNOW for a fact that the inspections are done correctly and on time, I am part of the crew responsible for doing the heavy checks on our 200's and 340's here in DTW.

There are a few private plane airports throughout the Twin Cities suburbs. Flying Cloud Airport at Edina, Minn. is one. The only other airport of size would be the St. Paul Downtown Airport/Holman Field (KSTP) along the Mississippi River. That airport mostly handles corporate jets and other light aircraft, but it could probably handle a CRJ or even an MD80/DC9/A319 in an emergency since the primary runway 14-32, is 6,491' x 150'.
