A graphics card overclocking tutorial using MSI Afterburner and MSI Kombuster. I try to keep it as simple as I can, but once you start increasing core voltage on your graphics card, there is no real rules that you can stick to. The only thing you can do is watch your temperatures, keep increasing your voltage and frequency and watch for signs of instability. You can get a massive performance increase out of overclocking your graphics card, mainly with newer graphics cards. I take no responsibility for damaged hardware caused by overclocking. I hope this video helps people out. You will find up to date versions of both applications if you scroll down on this Guru3d downloads page: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Videocards----Overclocking-&-Tweaking_c13.html

  • Does it work on a Intel Hd Graphics ?

  • @kubaa19 Its pointless overclocking entry level GPUs. The performance gain is so minuscule that it is not worth it. I am pretty positive it is just for NVIDIA and AMD.

  • This is so intimidating for me xD Is it able to fuck this up so badly that you instantly kill your graphics card?:O

  • @Games4LifeSWE Yes it is definitely possible to kill your graphics card. That is why when you are overclocking you need to use your head and be careful.

  • @kubaa19 probably cannot with a computer you bought from a brand like sony or toshiba or samsung

  • @cgDominion Yeah but i got Vaio VPCEB3F4E,is it possible to change the graphic card .. i heard the possibility of doing it on laptops its very small

  • @kubaa19 do you have the intel graphics media accelerator? no you cant overclock cuz its an onboard gpu

  • well i ran across something that mindblasted me. so the stock settings on the 6970 are 880Mhzcore/1375MHzmem/1.175V. So i was just doing stress tests and i found two funny things. at 990MHzcore and 1000MHz stock mem @ 1.210V i get about 65FPS on furmark 800x600 but when i increase core clock by 5 it goes up to 71FPS and i heard this could be mem error checking but i didnt touch the memory nor does overvolting/increasing the memory help.

  • i find the easiest way to overclock my 6970 is to run furmark in windowed mode and increase clocks/ voltage/mem over a 5 minute period each 5 minutes i increase core clock by 5mhz cause 6970 suck at overclocking and it's hard to tell were instability comes from this was if i increase a slider and it starts to artifact i know exactley what it is.

  • I clocked my memory to 1.2ghz and it started going nuts! im glad it didn't save those settings!

    i've set it to 1ghz now :|

  • over cocking sounds nice

  • I have MSI Afterburner Beta 12 and for voltage its at 0 and when i move the bar it goes +1,+2, etc. Is there a way where i can see what volts its being set to? I am using a MSI GTX 570.
