Almost a kilometer long. God this ship was immense. It was very beautiful too.

Will miss that ship...weird how we develop feelings for a piece of machinery. They say you tend to feel the ship is alive when you are on her.
I can't help but wonder if any of her crews got that attached to her? Would love to talk with someone who had the honor of serving on her...

The Jahre Viking and Knock Nevis are one and the same ship.
When it left the shipyard in 1979 it was called the Seawise Giant, in 1989 the name was changed to the Happy Giant and in 1991 its name was changed to Jahre Viking. In 2004 the ship was turned into a static, permanantly moored storage tanker and was renamed Knock Nevis.
