It was a fun day, he was very overly excited & distracted at everything going on around him, but he was very well behaved :) I wasn't expecting more from him, he was awesome.
The highest round they did was 75cm (which is like 2ft and a little bit) because I was the only one going to do the 1m(3ft3) round, so I told them not to worry, it's too much time/effort to change & heighten the course just for one horse. I didn't mind jumping small, it was fun :) Even though the striding wasn't set up for a horse his size, he he doesn't take small jumps seriously lol! We won 3 ribbons in the end, but they don't really mean much, I'm just so happy with the way he behaved that day!!
It just makes me smile when I watch this, thinking I broke him in and did all his training, he's such an amazing horse now. The white saddle pad/boots really make him look nice. I can't wait to do more competitions :D

  • had conformation flaws in her neck being small and she looks a lot better now. It will help with jumping form too. Yall look great and please consider this knowing that i do not seem to sound rude or mean. I hope to be as good of a trainer as u one day :)

    Hey!

Yes, I am very much aware of his neck/butt lol ;)

He wasn't collecting on show day, but I wasn't too fussed because it was his first show & he was distracted.

He's still a tad underweight, so I suppose that's not helping, getting him moved to a private paddock this month so I can fatten him up.

He collects beautifully in a bitless bridle, but in a snaffle he just says NO. He just hates bits.. I haven't been able to find any that he likes yet. His teeth are being done again on

  • @Bhukshine

Saturday, so hopefully there was an underlying problem with his teeth that can be fixed, so it can help him to accept the bit and drop his head.

I'll get a video of his dressage today in a bitless & in a bridle. There's a major difference in his collection, rhythm & flexion.

If only they'd allow horses to go bitless in competitions :( All our problems would be fixed.

  • O, my gosh. That was terrific for his first show!! :)

  • Please can someone answer me? Is it weird that I prefer being on the ground with horses than riding? I mean, I still do love being up on horseback but it just feels even better when im standing with a horse that seems completely content with having a human so close... I dont know really...

  • If only more horses were like your Teddy... He truly is a one in a million. I doubt I will find any arabian X quarter horse X australian stock horses for sale though :P At least I have time to improve my riding...
