  • i like that he doesn't try to hide his kick triggers...

  • hha, why should he?

  • a lot of drummers do, because of all of the stupid people that thing that triggers are "cheating"...

  • @ElGrapadora

Daniel does this thing where his triggered sound in in his kick drum mix about 45% and his bass drum traditional mics pick up the rest...that way he gets the great tightness and attack with triggers for the fast double bass stuff and the rich bottom end of mixes...to me his drum sound is one of the best!!!

  • Was this before the dvd?

  • @ElGrapadora

play fast double bass drumming without kick trigger if you can.

cheap and weak kick sound at least hahaha.

  • @ElGrapadora

almost extreme or metal drummer using trigger from abroad.

almost japanese drummer think that trigger is cheat.

but, sometimes need to compromise for band sound.

  • dead eyes see no future!!

  • Anyone who thinks triggers are "cheating" do not know what the fuck they're talking about. It's only cheating when you use them in the studio, even then, if you're using ONLY the sampled sound for your drums. Most drummers tend to go for a 50/50 thing for a tighter sound, but if you go 100% trigger in the studio, that shit is easy to quantize(ie cheating). With that said though, it's got nothing to do with your ability to play. It ISN'T cheating, just a sampled sound that triggers when you play.

  • @Scotty515 Ive seen videos of him and it shows his feet. the definately looked like single strokes. Ive also never seen him use triggers

  • @blindedbydarkness its only cheating if they start trigger tapping. if they trigger for an even sound and dont tap then i get that

  • @zmanbrody

    Tim yeung is a beast!

  • claiming that triggers make you "cheat" is completely ridiculous. however, the concept of lightly taping the bass drum and the trigger picking it up is true, but a real drummer would never take advantage of that. just because you use triggers does not make you a dishonest drummer, it's just a preference. those who take advantage of the concept are scum of the earth and do not deserve to be recognized as drummers. i personally have never used triggers only because i prefer an old school sound
