  • @MarkSaunders1000 Billie was one of Beckett's favourite actresses? Agree with MaGowran.

  • This is a good performance. But the MacGowran & Phillips' original has the 'edge' that Beckett 'originals' often do. Much of this, I suspect, is in the facial expressions, that MacGowran brought, particularly the eyes and there is something about Phillips' voice that has a 'life' that this actor does not. Maybe that is intentional in this version as this still works profoundly...
