Throughout New Mexico Junior College's two (2) year automotive programs (Ford ASSET & GM ASEP), the student alternates between classroom and laboratory instruction at the college and cooperative work experience in a sponsoring Ford / Lincoln-Mercury or General Motors dealership.

  • @mwd92 Yes, Math is required. But, the class is focused toward students in technical fields such as automotive mechanics. There is also a wonderful (and free) tutoring program for any NMJC student who feels like they need help.

  • @mwd92 We apologize for not getting back to you sooner. The answer to your question is yes. Students in the GM ASEP program should work for a GM dealer since you will be working on GM vehicles. To get a better understanding of the program you might contact Sam Gilcrease at 575.492.2863 or Javier Rivera at 575.492.2866, both are professors in the GM ASEP program.
