Yes, he is my father! His name is Ajit Varman and he has composed for movies like Aakrosh, Ardh Satya, Saaraansh, Janam. These movies, albeit in the art film genre established him as someone with a strong foundation in both Hindustani classical as well as western classical movies.

awesome song, rendered so beautiful by ashaji.. was searching for a better quality version of this song for ages. found it finally. Thank you. I have loved Ajit Varman's music in Aakrosh (Kanhra re peer sahi na jaaye) and the songs from Saraansh too (andhiyara ghir aaya soonapan... and har ghadi dhal rahi shaam hain)
