Empty Sky was released in 1969 by Elton John. I believe that this album was only released in the UK. I've put together a little trippy video. It weirdly flows together - sort of like a strange, hazy, acid trip. Turn up the volume and enjoy something really strange.

  • I appreciate the opportunity to hear this really rather important work from EJ. I have no idea what the video has to do with the music though and if I'd had an acid trip that could even remotely have been associated I'd have sued my supplier!

  • Im kinda drunk I meant king of bubble gum.Yuckkkkkkkkkkkk

  • he tried out for King Crimson and Gentle Giant.Thankfully for prog the kind of bubble gum tinkling didn't make either.

  • The Americans had to wait 'til 1975 to be able to listen to this. Their loss.

  • the production on this is fucking amazing, infact, a bit to good for an unknown (at the time) artist

  • I never liked this album. But, maybe it was because I was too much into his Yellow Brick Road/Caribou era when I first heard it.

Did ya know...that Elton was the piano player of the psych band, Argosy? They only did one single, that I know of, then Elton left, went solo and the band got a new pianist and changed it's name to Supertramp.

  • Ah, that was Annie Oakley at the beginning of the video!

  • Elton's "Empty Sky" had nothing to do with acid. It could be interpreted that perhaps the moderator of this video himself is still tripping on acid after all these decades. This song had to do with the early, early days of Elton and Bernie's collaborated times together as song writers. Elton would open up singing..."I'm not a rat to be spat on, I'm just locked up in this room" "I'm not a rat to be spat on" was a cry for respect, and "That room" was where it all began for Elton and Bernie.
