Sanyo Xacti HD1000 microphone test

This was a small test, with external and the on board microphone.

I used an Soundman OKM Classic Solo II, which sound in my ears best. Nice and full.

Than a Sony ECM DS70P which was ok, too. Both microphones where set on 3 in the microphone mixer of the camera.

The last one is the onboard mic, in my ears the choice with the fewest richness of sound.

Listeing to it on Youtube, doesn't point out the differences in sound as much as listeing to it on good headphones or a good stereo sound system.

The clip was filmed in web-shq 320 x 240 30fps resolution.

That Sony mic is an obvious counterfeit, so of course it sounds like crap. Youtube search "Sony ecm-ds70p fake mic side-by-side comparison" and watch the first result. He does a side by side sound test and the difference between real and fake is staggering.

IMPOSSIBLE to distinguish the quality of the audio. The acoustic is terrible and the audio gets compressed when broadcasted on youtube. This is a pointless test ...

i agree with posters, need visual spectral analysis display comparing the two (and spectrum of sound source as well). so many 'audiophiles' have no clue to how many compression/decompression processes occur during media distribution!!
