  • @barlandnewhouse Why are you insulting followers of God's Word by calling them 'religious nutcases' that hate people, and then come on here and call someone a dumbass just because he has a different opinion then you? Is that what Christ called you to do? Or is that something John Eldredge would promote?

Just as Jesus said you will know people by their fruits, I know from Eldredge's aggressive followers that attack those who follow God's Word that his teachings are dangerous and unbiblical.

  • Agreed.....this could change everything. I have been a follower of Jesus for over 42 yrs. and after reading this book, I see Him more clearly than ever before. I have been moved. I hope I will never be the same and that my passion to know him more will continue and come to pass. This could change EVERYTHING! Thank you John.

  • Funny how Jesus made it clear that if the hated Him that they would hate those that followed Him. Now was it the common people that hated Jesus? Nope. It was the leaders, and religious leaders to be exact. They were the only ones that had much to lose over what Jesus was teaching. It seems to hold true even to this modern age. The religious nutcases are the ones still doing all the hating. Self appointed keepers of the doctrine. Look at these comments below. MrQuest4truth your a dumbass.

  • Come on peeps! If you like, it say so... if you don't, put the book down and go do something good with your time and energy other than bashing this guy. I personally love reading his books and enjoy looking at his perspective into the personality of Jesus. Good stuff.

  • ummm...such comfort, as I was wondering if anyone else experiences the loneliness that has been imbedded deep inside of me as far back as I can remember ~ No matter the circumstances and who's around me ~ Then I read Chapter 5 of 'Beautiful Outlaw" by John Eldredge ~ Jesus knows....♥ Rich Mullin's knew and it shows in his song 'Hard to Get' ~ Kathryn Kuhlman knew ~ Corrie ten Boom knew.... Do you know? Intimacy ~ Into Me See ♥

  • I love this guy. I have bought and read his book 'Beautiful Outlaw' and he is a true teacher! God Bless John Eldredge and his Ministry.

  • John Eldredge leart eastern mysticism and has trained in thearter he is the consummate false teacher laeding many astray·His ideas dont come from the bible."In modern shamanism, geese are also associated with communication, the ability to express oneself, especially through the use of stories. Its said that the goose as a totem signifies the importance of the childhood belief in stories and legendary places. The stories people liked most as a child might give insight in the patterns in their lives"

  • @MrQuest4truth Thanks. Yeah, I think his teachings are starting to dry up and he's not getting to be as influencial as he used to be. I admit there may be problems with the modern church, but his teachings aren't the solution.

  • @GreenX37 I agree wholeheartily.Surprisingly "Wild at Heart" men's groups are still in some churches.Even churches with otherwise solid theology.Recently, the men at a church I was visiting went to see "Courageous", which I thought was overall a decent movie,no resemblence to Eldredge's form of theology. The assistant pastor made a reference during a get together with the men about Eldredge's claim every man wanting a battle, adventure ,and a beauty to rescue, when the men were discussing manhood.

  • This is ridiculous. Jesus cleared the temple because of His hatred of sin which was intensified because it was in His Father's house. The woman that wiped Jesus' feet with her hair and who kissed His feet displayed a broken and contrite heart, true repentence of her sinful life drove her to humility and loving reverence for Jesus. This act had nothing to do with a loss of capacity for what "nice" people thought. I highly question the suggestion that a self righteous Pharisee is a "nice" person
