Igbo Marriage Comedy presented at Enugu Day in Hamburg

Emenike met Adaeze shortly after their youth service and they established affectionate dating for each other. Emenike with his wonderful performance was retained in the oil company where he served. Adaeze was alone and without job in the village until Emenike asked her to pack into his new flat in Lagos.

Adaeze refused and for the reason that it is a taboo in her village (Umuokabguo) for a spinster to park into a man´s house without dowry. Emenike had no other choice than going to his Father, Chief Odenigbo of Amansiodo village and asked him to arrange for dowry move for his beloved.

A date was fixed and on that day the father of Adaeze, Chief Ezeani of Umuokagbuo asked his daughter to identify her intended husband by kneeling down to give him a sip of palm wine. So she did and asked her Umunna to start drinking. This is a sign of her umunna´s approval to the marriage. An Applaus !!!!!!!! And the curtain falls.
