Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Excellent video. It's a shame the MSM shies away from it.

If you watch and listen to this entire clip, it implies [correctly] that the one sentiment that can unite an entire nation, however politically fractured, is nationalism. People don't care about partisan stuff as much as they care about running their own country, outside of foreign influence.

Why we are constantly told "nationalism is a disease" eludes me... it is the one thing everybody can rally around in any given country, and it doesn't automatically mean nationalists "hate" everyone else.

Americans are pathetic...all about capital accumulation for US Companies (Mosanto in Vietnam) using the armed forces as the spearhead....LESSON IS: LEAVE THESE COUNTRIES ALONE AND SELF-GOVERN! If they want the Taliban, let them have it and leave Iran and Pakistan deal with the refugees...

BULLSHIT. Vietnam (South OR North) didn't need a 'better' gov, they needed to be sovereign & independant from occupation & exploitation of France. Ho Chi Minh admired JFK & American democracy, he appealed to US for help to repel the colonial invaders; INSTEAD, US Deep State, having hijacked political power via JFK coup, provocateured pretext for disasterous & brutal war & exploited the sabotage of peace & justice for lucrative corporate profits, from oil & Coca Cola to Heroin, arms & aircraft.

NO ONE has defeated the Afghans since Alexander the Great. NOT the Chinese, NOT the Indians, NOT the British and NOT the Soviets. Hamid Karzai was a consultant for UNOCAL. UNOCAL, ENRON and the BUSH representatives met in 1997 in Houston with...the TALIBAN to negotiate a deal for the Trans-Afghan pipeline to take Caspian Sea oil and deliver it to COMMUNIST RED CHINA. The deal failed and the ENRON BOD began discussing REGIME change but they needed "THEIR MAN' in the White House. They succeeded.

it was frustrating we watched the news and year after year it became obvious that they would not allow the war to be won......It was taking a great toll on the American youth in deaths...It is the most frustrating when you realize that they do not intend to win the war but to keep it going because it is lucrative having the war continue.

South Vietnam then needed a better government and Afghanistan now needs a better government. The U.S. in Vietnam were foreigners to the people, and the U.S. in Afghanistan now are foreigners to the people.
