Rökk was born in Cairo, the daughter of the Hungarian architect Eduard Rökk and his wife Maria Karoly. Her family moved to Paris. In 1934, Rökk was offered a contract with the Universum Film AG (UFA) in Germany, She then went on to star in Wunschkonzert a Nazi propaganda film. Rokk was talented but she was not German. Rokk chose to live and entertain in Germany and therefore was implicit in supporting the Nazi propaganda machine. It does not make her a Nazi but she chose to collaborate.

@mrktyb So being anti Nazi is racist?

Stupid racist comment.

@rhys1705 You are absolutely right. Dancing in one's own country when a particular political party is in power does not make you a member of that party; just as dancing in the States does not determine whether you are a republican or democrat.

She was a European performer at the times the nazis dominated , doesnt make her a Nazi. As a Hungarian choices were limited too

Rokk is a much better dancer than Keeler, but it is Keeler's earthiness that makes her so charming. Keeler had something that Rokk did not: Busby Berkeley.
