Interesting that they don't split the pelvis or the sternum in the field. I can understand not cutting too far if the deer will be mounted, but splitting the chest makes it a lot easier to reach up and cut both the esophagus and windpipe.
First video ive seen where the narrator mentions to tag your deer. Nice to see. That butt out looks like a good investment....I use the little twist ties that you get on loaves bread and stuff like that to tie the colon off, quick, easy, and haven't had any mess that way.
I've watched a lot of these videos trying to get all the nuances about field dressing a deer and this is the best I've found. You can actually see, with excellent narration, the how and why, you do what you do. The camera actually is close enough to see what is really going on! Thank you for an excellent tutorial. it makes no sense to not cut all the way through the deer and break its ribs first to get all the guts out.
