This is a good video. There is more to HG than just the nausea though. They forgot the can't get out of bed, the headaches the dizziness the debiltating fatigue, and the blurry vision.

=( hyperemesis is horrible, praying I do not have it the whole time with this one.

Completely understand as I am in the middle of surviving a pregnancy with HG. Mine is mild, so meds work without hospital intervention. Viewing this makes me feel good, as it means that as women, we are trying to get the word out there so that others do not have to suffer in silence or ignorance.

LegalAlien100, u don't kno if u'll get it in subsequent pregnancies. I was hoping mine wuz a 1 time thing but I'm now 26wks with my 2nd HG preg. I'm gettin my tubes tied after this one. 2x with 2boys is 2much.

Another, much more heartbreaking truth is some women choose to terminate a planned pregnancy or lose pregnancies to this illness, only to find that ones the symptoms have eased they have greatly regret the decision, and so pursue another pregnancy to emotionally heal. This is common with miscarriages as well. I really don't think it's any of our places to judge, especially if we have never experienced HG ourselves.

From what I have read, many women who experienced HG in a first pregnancy were unaware of it (as in no one properly diagnosed them) so I get the impression that many women go on to attempt further pregnancies hoping that the first HG was a fluke.

You state that 'judging someone for reproducing is called eugenics'. Not so. Eugenics is 'the science that deals with the improvement of the hereditary traits of a race' and in-and-of-itself is begin, much like religion; it is when it is used for deviant purposes that it becomes negative. It may be frowned upon but that does not necessarily mean that implemented on a personal level eugenics is a bad thing.

I obviously do not know how you truly feel as I am not walking in your shoes, and I am not defending the actions of the insensitive medical 'professionals' that you have apparently had the misfortune to encounter (please read the latter part of my original posting) but I can sympathize with how hurt you clearly are.
I cannot speak about your fertility, you seemed not to have voluntarily endured three HG pregnancies but there are many women that do. This to me is counterintuitive...
LOL yeah the hate comment was over the top, but can you see how bitter and defensive I am towards people who don't understand? Not so much unlucky as just really fertile, I'm LUCKY to have survived and have three healthy babies in spite of being so ill. Judging someone for reproducing is called eugenics and is generally frowned upon...

In my second HG pregnancy, I had a VERY ignorant and stupid public health nurse report me to Children's Aid, bc she felt I was just being irresponsible with my body or in caring for my first child. It was the MOST hurtful thing anyone has ever done to me, as if I needed THAT on top of my unrelenting vomiting!
