Psychic Advisor Andre'. (7) My Lava Lamp Experiments: Triple lamps!!!

These 3 Lava Lamps were created using the bottles of store bought Lava Lamps. Bored of the original fluid, I poured them out and decided to try making my own fluid. I used the original recommended watt bulbs for these 3 lamps. 40 or 25 watt. It's written on the inner lip of the lamps.

Lamp 1: (Not perfectly made) It's made with Candle Wax from a regular scented red candle. First: Let the candle burn down or heat it up for faster melting, pour the melted wax into the bottle and let dry overnight. 2nd: Spray a little Brake Cleaner Fluid into the bottle. 3rd: Add 70% Rubbing Alcohol and wait a couple of hours to let it settle. 4th: Slowly add 91% Rubbing Alcohol and watch to see if the wax will rise. 5th: Add some Distilled Water. Only a little. As you can see, in mine the wax stays at the top. I need to reset my liquids and retry. It's good to see these errors so you'll know for yourself what they are.




Lamp 2: This is working! : Looks like "Cream Filling". 1: Melted Paraffin Wax, let settle and dry in the bottle. 2: After it's dry add Brake Cleaner 3: Heat it up and add 70% Rubbing Alcohol 4: Add 91% Rubbing Alcohol to make the wax fall. 5: Add Several squirts of Dishwashing Liquid. 6: Adjust your liquids as you see fit. This one came out good! As you can see, your liquids don't have to be the same recipe all the time. Different fluids create different reactions. Enjoy trying!

Lamp 3: It's made of: Motor Honey, Mineral Oil, then added 91% Rubbing Alcohol, then 70% Rubbing Alcohol, then Distilled Water, then a little more Motor Honey. After several days of it sitting still, it began to crawl up and down, creating it's own slow moving behavior. Lava making can be cool!

Be ready to buy large bottles of the 91 and 70 Rubbing Alcohol, and as big a bottle, (or several bottles) of Mineral Oil. Just prepare to retry if nothing works at first.

Try it and see how it turns out. You never know since it's a wide open selection to choose from. I saw for the first time on Youtube, "Lava Heads" A glass head with lava in it. Very cool looking.

i just got a new one now im going to experiment on my old one that ive had for years now but was shaken a couple years ago but has never ben the same and more and more lava is sticking to the walls of the bottle. im going to go a head and start experiemting with water, epsom salt and drops of soap. if the wax is just to old and faded ill try some different salt
