Both David Cameron and Nick Clegg spoke out against the need to raise VAT during the election campaign. With the emergency budget looming, the TaxPayers' Alliance thought it necessary to remind them of this.

Revealed (as if we didn't know) the Tory party received 11.5 m from bankers last year for their campaign. Spotty Rowland: 4m. Stanley Fink: 2m George Magan :.5m.
No doubt there are some envelopes changing hands too, as they protect all those bankers from paying back the billions they borrowed to keep their jobs and bonuses, while WE tighten our belts. Same old Tories.

They don't have a mandate for attacking the poor either, but I don't expect we'll hear the 'Taxpayers Alliance' condemning that.
