Hardy SINTRIX 10' # 7 4 Piece Rod on the Hardy Test Rig

This is the destruction test on the Hardy Test Rig. Rods are deliberately taken to the point of failure to assess their strength. SINTRIX blanks are the first rods that we have been unable to break on the rig.

The best conventional carbon fibre blanks break with about 18 Newton's of force. This SINTRIX 10' #7 4 piece blank has survived taking the test rig to its maximum 32 Newton's of force on 10 separate occasions so far without breaking.

Looks v.impressive. However, is it possible to produce a Fast Action rod from a SINTRIX blank? Also, are there plans to produce coarse rods using this process - seems to me this would be ideal for a carp match rod.

Are these rods only to be marketed under the Hardy name or will there be any introduced under the Greys name?

@scrabble58 The first ranges will be Hardy Fly rods but we plan to introduce rods under the Greys brand using SINTRIX technology in the future.

@scrabble58 @scrabble58 The first rods to be developed from SINTRIX material will be fast action, high performace rods for fly fishing. These will be available in early 2011.

We do plan to develop coarse rods with this technology in future.
