they put a modified gladius engine in, insted of the sv650 we had. they say improved air flow too. bet your right tho, mechanically the same

IDK, Looks pretty good to me...Eliminated alot of the shiny painted surface that scratched so easily for one, but it doesn't seem to have the "Cobra Snake Head" look anymore from the front view. Looks like the blinkers are somewhat recessed as well. Can't tell ya how many of them I broke off. I guess mechanically it's pretty much the same?
