Thanks for the reply. We'll definitely not agree on this one. FYI when I say 'sensitivity' I'm not talking about sentimentality, rubato, mush or whatever you want to call it. But there's a difference between when say Karl Richter conducts Bach and say some recent boring competition-winner plays Bach. I call that 'sensitivity' (though of course it embraces emotional intelligence, intellectual intelligence, a good academic knowledge, etc). For me Bach is one of the most emotional composers I know.

Sorry for being so sardonic but we won't agree on this no matter how much we argue; I don't agree with the idea of 'interpretation as composition', I agree with Brendel that the interpreter has some degree of obligation to present the musical ideas of the composer with respect to the composition. I do think that 'sensitivity' has no place in the preformance of a baroque or even classical piece; in baroque music the form is far more important than the content.

Maybe it's an illusion or some sort of lens effect but I could swear his right foot was on the damper pedal through half the song; I must be dreaming because it's a baroque piece and a Bach Fantasie so that would be absolutely asinine.

I like this performance
but it could've been better with more movement. but it sounds really good sound wise

The 906 is not hard to play but rarely I could listen to a proper rendition (put aside properformers of course).At last this one is a pleasant performance,eventhough brutally
cut..!
