Occupy The Courts w/ Ellas Anthony McDaniel & Friends at Bo Diddley Community Plaza in Gainesville, FL on January 20th, 2012.

Ellas Anthony McDaniel and Friends

(Musicians: Ellas Anthony McDaniel - vocals, Tammi Diddley - drums, Mark McDaniel - rhythm guitar, Scott Free - lead guitar, Lacy Lou - vocals, Lisa McGaughran - bass).

Vocalist McDaniel, veteran drummer Diddley, and rhythm guitarist Mark McDaniel are the son, daughter, and grandson, respectively, of the late Bo Diddley.

Scott Free is a highly regarded guitarist based in Gainesville who works in several groups including Original P Parliament-Funkadelic; vocalist Lacy Lou sings regularly in area groups such as Fast Lane. The bass player worked in a few Memphis groups such as Panther Burns years ago and suggested this song to the McDaniels for the Move to Amend event's "get money out of government" theme and in keeping with Cornel West's "poverty tour" themes.

  • the whole occupy movement from one side of the country to the other was and is a epic failure, does the gainsevile site have their own rape free tent like the one they set up in the occupy wall street site to protect the female protestors at night from rape and sexual assault? just curious

  • Wow, I really enjoyed that song. That female singer has a great voice!

  • The courts are in contempt of us!
