Quick video I made to show you how easy it is to get a kitchen timer from IKEA and use it for a maximum 360 degree 1 hour panning time lapse.

Step 1: Head to IKEA.
Step 2: Find the ORDNING timers.
Step 3: Pay for them!
Step 4: Put one of your GoPro sticky mounts on top and you're GOLDEN!

Additional tips.. I used the photo every 5 seconds, and photo every 10 seconds for the time lapses. I wouldn't go any higher than 10 seconds.

You can also attach a tripod to the base of the timer however I do not have one so I can not make a video on that yet... but perhaps in the future I might.

Comment if you plan on doing this as I would love to see your results. Time lapse photography is always cool to see. Subscribe if you like!

Head over to DougNotter.com to hear more of this awesome music, and also help get SickVids.net community populated so that we can help each other learn new ways to make cool videos.

Thanks for watching!

  • what if you want to do more then one hour??

  • @freestyleskier132 Get a different timer, one that can do a 360 degree turn in more than an hour. As far as I know the only 360 degree turning timers like this are only one hour so its impossible to go longer. I've hear of 2 hour timers but havent found any.

  • @sheridan666777 but how do the pros do it? special tripod?

  • @freestyleskier132 I would assume they have some kind of timer, maybe even an electric motor where they can control the speed that it turns at. Im not sure

  • possibly the only "some assembly required" GoPro mount

  • what is the name of this song....

  • @djza4321 use a video editor. (i use adobe after effects). Import all of the photos > select them all > Sequence all layers> TADA! It automatically puts all photos one after another. You can change the duration (aka speed) by adjusting how many frames each photo takes up.

  • @djza4321 i agree i dont know how the fuck to merge the photos together

  • on my go pro the time lapse is just alot of pictures is there any way to put all those pictures together

  • You forgot something and it's not a big deal, but you should make sure the camera is leveled. Use a tripod or something to get that super nice shot!

  • hahahaha nice idea :P

  • @freestyleskier132 yea. a special tripod

  • Awesome method. I will try this myself. Thanks!
