1998 Andrea Gardiner - US Nationals

Andrea competed at Nationals for several years, but did not break thru to the medals podium. A graceful, yet powerful skater in the mold of Sjouke Djistra and Karen Magnussen, she was a master of the triple loop. She managed to get so far over on the take off edge that it made a delightfully beautiful jump.

Like Debbie Thomas before her, she indicated an interest in the study of medicine. Always an articulate and insightful interview, her vocabulary included many other words besides.....AWESOME!!

k9henrydog, Thanks so much for this video footage, I'd forgotten all about this young woman, and the very good performance that she gave. I hope to one day in the very near future see another Debbie Thomas or even Andrea Gardiner, standing on that Olympic podium with a metal one day soon.
