In the wake of the First World War, after a truce had been declared between the warring factions and once the allies had secured their sweeping victory, the Uthmani State was destroyed and fragmented into small statelets. The allies seized all the Arab lands, Egypt, Syria, Palestine, Eastern Jordan and Iraq stripping them away from the State so that all that remained in the hands of the Uthmanis was Turkey, and even she had been invaded by the allies.
