TACLET is not a rate, but a job that I think most rates can apply for. I think BM and GM are preferred because of their LE and weopons expertise.

Gun and knife disarms are pretty stupid to teach. Unless you've practiced them for years, attempting one will have one result, death. Learning one in class and practicing it for a week or two aint gonna get it done. If you know the guy's probably gonna shoot you anyway, you may as well try it. But if it's just a standard hold up in the dark alley, give 'em your wallet. Don't ever try any of this shit. You may survive the knife, but you'll definately get cut in the process.

It's at air station Miami in Opa Locka. The TACLET is located at the air staion, but other than that has nothing to do with aviation. You have to volunteer to do this job. Most Coasties will never get this type of training. Most probably couldn't fight there way out of a wet paper bag. I'm in the Coast Gurad too. I'm just telling it like it is.

This was some where in Miami with the Coast Guard. This is special training for those in a specific career field that volunteered for it.
