Art in General's Arts in Education program exposes young people to unconventional art practices and gives students the materials and guidance to make their own original artwork. Students are also given the unique opportunity of presenting their work to the public at Art in General. For Artscool 2007, eighth-grade English Language Learners practiced reading, writing, speaking and listening to English as they develop drawing skills. With guidance, each student produced a comic book. Seventh- and eighth-grade English Language Arts students were posed with the question of how to make important decisions that will have a positive impact on their lives, and responded by creating public service announcements. PACE High School Communication students investigated rebuilding policies and discovered how the unequal treatment of Chinatown by the government has complicated the neighborhood's attempts to get on its feet in the aftermath of the tragedy of 9/11.
