Sgt. Mickey Hutchens Photo Tribute 10.16.09

Officer Mickey Hutchens made the ultimate sacrifice protecting a Winston-Salem resident he didn't even know. From the moment the breaking news hit, most of us were riveted. Though tough in his battle for life, Sgt. Hutchens succombed to his injuries on October 12, 2009.

When the memorial services were announced, I knew I wanted to be there to pay tribute. I was privileged enough to walk in to an area where the caisson unit was preparing. The pictures, for me, captured an awe-inspiring tribute to a true hero.

My thoughts and prayers remain with Mrs. Hutchens, his daughters, Mother and rest of the family.

Mickey was a very close family friend, and Daniel is my cousin. I hope everyone can understand the love i have for this.
