An overview of the FIRE system presented at the 2006 WIRED NextFest exhibition. The system tracks the location and condition of firefighters using miniature wireless sensors. The project is co-developed by UC Berkeley and Moteiv.
Great technology, good application. But I have idea... pay attention to your surroundings, training and experience. Computers are good and all, but they don't replace your brain and experience. I can see this tool giving more guys a false sense of security and they go deeper, faster, with out paying attention, then it quits working.
being a ff/emt myself i think that is awesome that they r making great inventions like this that would help us out immensly. would love to see updates
