there actually is a mansion in Japan called Himuro Mantion, I think it's just outside Tokyo (might be wrong bout that part), where the whole household was supposed to have been murdered in one night from some sortof shinto ritual. I think that's where they got the idea for the game cos now the place is supposedly haunted.
