@XlaceratedX but the other mics arnt behind screens and i dont see other bands (outside of church) using them.
Plus isnt is wrong to put a wall between the musician and the congregation?

Nah, basically it's to kind of keep the sound of the drums in the cage, kind of a way to muffle the sound going out, and minimize the sound going in. Because it's live music, he's using drum microphones. And when you're getting outside noise near the drums, the mic pics them up.
