The Islamic religion wasn't the thing that crashed into the twin towers. It was an idiotic angry group of terrorist. I see no problem in there being a mosque near ground zero.

I think it's disrespectful to build a mosque near 9/11 ... It's like being kicked in the face when you're already defeated. Constitution or not...it's bullshit and the area should be off limits and respected as a proper remorial for those who died.

That may be true, but traditionally, whenever, Arab armies would conquer lands, they built mosques as a sign of victory. Few examples, when jerusalem was conquered, they built al-aqsa, transformed st Sophia Basilica church into a mosque in Istanbul, and when The Moors conquered Spain they made a mosque, so forth.
Building one near 9/11 would be considered a symbolic victory to many extremists.
