  • What about that point of view that people, who are not enjoying making those phonecalls because they have greater epathy for people, therefore they know that in many cases sales is not about the customer it is about making profit!!!

  • ..Even a very motivated sales person can fail if they don't understand the market, the customer, the competition or for whatever reason don't spend enough time talking with the right people (that probably comes with experience of a particular industry) but yes without motivation talking even with the right people is going to feel like an uphill struggle.

  • I think this kinda misses the point of it. If they are not motivated to make the calls and/or close then you might want to think why they arn't motivated. If they arn't motivated by the potential earning then is that becuase the potential bonus is limited e.g they might have a capped bonus/commission and a relatively high basic. If a commission only seller isn't motivated then perhaps thats a different issue. Also while motivation is *essential* I don't think it's the only reason to fail.
