@renatoavatarian I must say..I did like the extended version of Aliens alot more than the theatrical release. It was more of a sci fi with the added back story at the beginning.

@TheSleathable as for Aliens...well Rid Scott did such a complex work-of art movie.Supreme camera movement.Style,Narrative and dense atmosphere. It was original,but try to imagine another movie like this.Its too much.Audience wouldn´t take it for granted. It had be done in a different way.A new approach to the franchise.Jim did what he had to.Forced it they way we wanted? Yes..But he have to face facts.He did greatly.Not original,though I enjoyed the idea of a Queen Alien x Ripley mother thing.

@TheSleathable I see no problems if someone forces something to happen the way they want.Assumingly..he did the same on AVATAR. but,let´s face it..He does well...very well....Lack of originallity indeed.but he knows the ways of sucess,I mean financially speaking. What Plot would best fit Cameron´s script neeeds on Titanic?? Another Disaster Movie?I wouldn´t have washed and the bugdet for Aliens was considered high.Must have some compensation. love story pays wisely

@renatoavatarian exactly typical of jimmy cameron taking a story he didn't think of and forcing it the way he wants. Takes Titanic and makes it a love story. Takes a sci horror like alien and makes it like Vietnam in space. I loved terminator but that's his franchise so it worked.

Aliens was shot during the 80´s.Reagan´s era.Military and belics were the over the top topic at that time.Vets,Nicaragua,honduras,R­ussia...Movie and Politics are always connected and Cameron wanted to show us both sides.How high tech weaponry can be destroyed by "primitive creatures" quite like what happened to USA against Vietnan.That´s it
