This video was shot in Summer 2007 when I was practicing to dress Kuro Tome-sode, the black formal Kimono for married women, to prepare for my Kimono consultant examination of All Japan Kimono consultant association, which she passed.

  • Thank you! Beautiful quality and wonderfully clear. A marvellous resource for those of us learning kitsuke. (And it's so seldom I see married lady's style of dressing shown, so this is specially appreciated.

  • Thank you very much for your comment!

I am glad to know that you enjoyed this video, dressing married woman in Edozuma. Dressing Edo-zuma was one of the examination for Kimono consultant.

  • WOW!!!!! This is absolutely wonderful!

  • oh maaaan.. i have to be married to wear black.. hmmmm..

  • The kimono and obi are chosen ahead of time, watawatan0w. If a woman wearing Western style clothing choses her outfit the night before, it also takes only about 10 minutes to put it on.

  • i luv kimonos i've always wanted to wear one

  • i love kimonos they're very sliming. i've seen there is a elegant way of tying a obi but i do not see it very often, when every there is a occasion to wear a kimono. the elegant way to tie it was very beautiful. it way purple with gold and she made it look like a giant bow instead of a square in the back.

  • i wish there was a vid on how to undress

  • just imagine western women try this, take the 10 minutes and add that to the 30minutes it takes them to put on normal clothes:)

    BUt this is awesome....

  • I was going to buy a kimono so I can wear it to the Maiden Butterfly. After watching this video... I changed my mind. I DON'T HAVE THIS KIND OF SKILL!!!
