@hgross3comcast You certainly look like you're having a good time. In any case, this is a stupendous resource, and I hope you enjoy some well-deserved satisfaction. I think things like this are going to change the face of education.

@ryanlouiscooper I just now saw your message. The “stage fright” look is actually a result of deep concentration on my part. There was no written script and the only live audience were the camera people who obviously were not supposed to be paying attention to the lecture. It took me a while to get used to lecturing in a room where no one was paying attention. However as “frightened” as I may have looked, I enjoyed every minute I spent developing this course.

@hgross3comcast It sounds a little awkward, like stage fright, not a foreign accent. Kind of random pauses. "Overview both of the hardware...and the software..." However, I don't think real oratorical fluency is key here. So long as you aren't monotonous, things are good. The pauses actually help me keep my attention focused.

I'm not sure about why there is so much attention paid to my accent. For the record I am a first generation born American , born and brought up in the Boston area. Any "peculiararites" in my speeech can be attributed to plain old speech impediments.
As an aside if you google "bela lugosi teaches calculus" you will find other references to my appearance :)

i would've killed to have this sort professor for my calculus course. this guy is combines all the interesting aspects including history, philosophy, and practical applications into a clear and coherent lecture. not just a boring over simplified lecture about the procedural-mechanical method to arrive at an answer. neither a long, arduous, and archaic math proof with weird wording.
