This game got Mike O'Cain fired as Wolfpack coach. He would take a job as an assistant coach at none other than North Carolina the next season under Torbush. He stayed one more year. If the outcome had been reversed, Carl Torbush would've probably been the one fired and they say he could have very well joined O'Cain's staff at NC State.
