I don't know about anybody else, but Jack's game stayed viable for a lot longer than I thought it would, given the fact that he wasn't a loosey-goosey, flexible sort of player but a heavily muscled former multi-sport athlete who had all kinds of back and hip trouble fairly early. He's definitely my idol and IMO the greatest in history (provably, I think, with a nod to Snead, Hogan, and Jones), but I really didn't think his body would hold up as long as it did.
