a 10 minutes long take, a tour de force of typical Wellsian screen direction and among the longest shot ever done on film in film history--almost as long as the length of the reel in a 35mm camera.

  • Nolan and Welles proved their greatness of acting in this very sequence. Just hearing their voices performing this sequence gives me goosebumps.

  • "But screw your courage to the sticking place>"

    I laugh every time I hear that line.

  • The Scottish accents here sound like speech defects, but I like the unashamed theatricality of the acting.
