  • It is really awesome to see the shows that stuck and did not....also this was very much my mom's growing up so it is a great glance into her childhood

  • I second that.

  • THANKS ALOT FOR SHARING.

  • "THE ALVIN SHOW" was seen in black & white in its only prime-time season, even though it was filmed in color, because CBS did not telecast ANY color series until the fall of 1965; the "ALVIN" color prints weren't seen until the show went into syndication in the fall of '65.

  • "Wednesday's Finest Dramatic Hour", at 4:06, was supposed to be "THE UNITED STATES STEEL HOUR", alternating with "ARMSTRONG CIRCLE THEATER" at 10pm(et), the two most prestigious TV dramatic anthologies at the time. Their preview is missing from this print...

  • Believe it or not, repeats of "FATHER KNOWS BEST" (1954-'60) were still being seen in prime-time on the network {Wednesdays, 8pm(et)}, even though Robert Young's new series "WINDOW ON MAIN STREET" was on Mondays. Both were off CBS by the end of the season...yes, that's Marion Ross as "Sarah Green's" daughter in "MRS. G GOES TO COLLEGE", retitled "THE GERTRUDE BERG SHOW" when it moved to Thursdays in January 1962. Nobody wanted to see "Molly Goldberg" (or her alias "Sarah Green") on TV anymore...
