  • to the fuckwit below who's making people believe a 7 string is tuned EADGBeb, it's B-E-A-D-G-B-E, look anywhere on the internet, if you tune that low B any higher than a little over into C, it will snap.

  • the name of this lesson - steve vai teaches you how to quit

  • that wasn't much of a lesson but it was still SICKASFUCK

  • @bukkakechamp trust me, when I first saw Tosin Abasi in BOO I was all over his youtube videos and eventuall AAL. I think Tosin actually inspired them to be more progressive and write music, unlike songs such as "Abstract Art".

  • i love vai but this doesnt sound musical at all

  • @MrShredtilldead Don't spew this BULLSHIT pal. Shawn was free to have any opinion he had good or bad. If you suck as a guitar player, then someone should tell you to your face that you suck. That type of honesty is what's lacking in so many pussified people these days. So you spoke with Shawn Lane? Is that supposed to give you some form of credibility? Not with me. There's a market for players like Vai. More power to him. I think he sucks ass compared to Lane, EJ, SRV, JMH, Segovia, Montoya, etc

  • @X6XMegadethX6X lol thanks if you want to see some cool 8 string stuff check out animals as leaders, and scale the summit. I think those are some of the only guys that really know how to play there instruments, and use them to there full potential

  • @bukkakechamp very true, but considering the scale of most 7 strings vary from 25.5 - 27.7 inch scales, you would need something higher than the normal B string gauge, i know stephen carpenter has 7 strings in his road setup that are tuned EADGBEe. 7 strings are extremely versatile. but i was referring to the standard ernie ball gauge (10 - 56) which when scale is taken into consideration is pretty hefty. also, nice name.

  • @HMG5588 You know the funny thing about that comment is, I bet my life that if you were able to ask Shawn lane what he thought of Vai, Satriani, etc. he'd say the complete opposite of what you just said. Having had the great fortune to meet Shawn myself and have a brief 20 minute conversation with him regarding the shred scene, he was the most humble player I have ever meet and had great respect for other players such as Gilbert and Satriani and the like. Why don't you try acting like Sean huh?

  • @chuckthornberry what the hell does that even mean?

  • he is good at what he he is good at but not this

  • @bukkakechamp Did I ever say you can't play a seven string or that not everyone can? No, so don't take me out of context.
