This film is based in the Northwest Pakistan, and generally speaking, Pakistanis are a v ery inclusive society and there are tons of intermarriages across ethnicities -- we dont exactly bomb each other on the basis of "blood" and "ethnicity" as happens in your homeland Afghanistan. The ethnic influence happens all across Pakistan -- we've all absorbed a bit of each other and thats why our ethnicities are at peace with each other.

I'm Afghan, and the women's clothing is definitely Pushtun or Pathan as Afghans in Pakistan are called.
I noticed many Lollywood films looked to the Northwestern Frontier for cultural influence to capture a more "Islamically" based cultural nuance, to differentiate from Bollywood.
However, Pakistani Punjabis are Desis, the Pathan are not Desis.
