UPDATE:
z4root does not work anymore. Use the latest SuperOneClick from http://shortfuse.org

Rooting a Rogers Sony Ericsson X10a running the Global generic Android v2.1 (Eclair) firmware using SuperOneClick.
Rooting does NOT make the Market free nor does it unlock your phone. It allows you to run applications such as Titanium Backup, Barnacle WiFi tether, etc. as well as uninstall system applications like Moxier or install system applications such as the updated Gingerbread YouTube application: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EHQMDfRU4E
If you have a crappy antivirus program, "RageAgainstTheCage" is FALSELY identified as a virus. It is NOT a virus. It modifies system files on your phone (required for rooting, obviously) and is therefore seen as a virus. Download Microsoft Security Essentials: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
Works on ANY X10 running 2.1.
Does NOT unlock your phone. Does NOT re-lock your unlocked phone.
(SIM lock and rooting are independent.)
Sony Ericsson PC Companion (required for SuperOneClick rooting): http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/detailed/pccompanio... (install and update PC Companion)
Various Android applications, Sony Ericsson software (mirror), and other useful programs: http://www.mediafire.com/?4khhnle8lyysp

@7011caner No, there isn't. Your crappy antivirus program can't tell the difference between a program that modifies system files and an actual virus.
